DAKAK and Fantasyland Travel and Tour host FAMTOUR for Chinese Tour Operators in dapitan city

Twelve representativesfrom various reputable travel agencies and tour operators from Guangzhou, Guandong, China came to Dapitan City for a Familiarization Tour hosted and sponsored byDakak Park and Beach Resort with Fantasyland Travel and Tour, local tour operator of Dapitan City last March 24 to 26, 2012.

Participants of the said FamTour comprised of key officials or Southeast Asia Division Managers from Guangzhou C-trip International Travel Service, CITS Guangdong Group, CTS International Travel Service Foshan Group,   Comfort International Travel Service and a general manager of Rich Holidays Travel Center including a representative from China Southern Airlines, Jane Chen, a local Chinese Journalist based in Manila who also runs her own travel agency along with Mariane Obispo, representative of DOT China Team and Dive Marketing Presenter and Chinese Tour Guide Ding Ho comprised the group.The group arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 9:00 o’clock in the evening on March 23, via Philippine Airlines from Honkong. They were met by Ms. Consuelo Locop the general manger of Fantasyland Travel and Tour Corp.

Upon arrival at Dipolog airport, the group was welcomed with the livelyRondalla Team from Dapitan City and proceeded to Burgos, Dapitan City for a river cruise with lunch.  They were warmly welcomed by Councilor Apple Agolong, Chairperson on Tourism of Dapitan City Council and Engr. RodiolanPorlas, City Tourism Officer. The festive lunch was sponsored by DOT Region IX Director Mary Jane Bugante who also gave away vinta boats as souvenir items from Region IX.  After a city historical tour, they then proceeded to the famous Dakak Park and Beach Resortwhere they were billeted for three days.  For the next three days, they explored the various tour sites of Dapitan including snorkeling and diving in the pristine Aliguay Island, watched the shows at Gloria’s Fantasyland and experienced fishpond cruise, heritage and leisure tours and helicopter adventures.

The socials and farewell cocktails held at Pirates Bar, Dakak Park and Beach Resort with the Chairman of the corporation, Mr. Romeo G. Jalosjos, were full of applause and expression of warm memories and gratitude for the hospitality felt by the agents.  According to Mr. Yu Yimin of Rich Holidays, they all loved the beach, the great service and warm hospitality of all service crew the locals and he was so grateful and was pleasantly surprised that they had an opportunity to experience Discovery Dive in Aliguay.  They plan to customize their own tour packages based on the interests of their varied clients and will discuss further with local counterparts in China concerning the focus of Dakak market.

Other agents also commented thatDapitan’s beaches are of world class quality, and that they enjoyed the tasty dishes offered. Filipino hospitality and service of the entire working team was very much appreciated by the guests. The Chinese agents have also suggested chartered flights from Guangzhou to Dipolog and that if it isn’t possible a route from Manila-Dipolog-Cebu-China flights giving 3 key tourist destinations in the Philippines at one time.

Most of the Chinese travel agents were surprised at what Dapitan City had to offer to tourists as they only heard and discovered the superb white beach destination of Dakak and Aliguay through the presentation made during the Guangzhou International Trade Fair held last March 1-3, 2012 whereby Dakak Park and Beach Resort represented by its local tour operator, Fantasyland Travel and Tour participated upon the invitation of the Department of Tourism.

The group ended their tour through a farewell lunch at Mercado offered by Resorts World and co-sponsored by DOT China Team in Manila, where they were also given a Resorts World Tour.

According to FTTC General Manager, Ms. Locop, “the famtour is just a gesture of opening our gates to the Chinese market and hopefully to other Asian countries.”She mentioned that they already are corresponding with Shanghai-based Tourism Attaché for China Mr. Gerry Pangafor another group of Chinese tour operators and media travel journalists from china who he plans to bring to Dapitan City within the quarter of this year.

This was the very first Familiarization Tour offered and fully initiated by Fantasyland Travel and Tour (FTTC) for the selected top Chinese Travel Agents.  The management of Fantasyland travel and tours were grateful for the support of the Department of Tourism Reg. 9 through Director Mary Jane Bugante, Department of Tourism Team China through Ms. Arlene Alipio, Ms. Bing Lim of El Sol Tours and Travel Incorporated, who provided free shuttle transfers in Manila and Philippine Airlines who facilitated for their airline tickets and for all its tour suppliers especially Dakak Park and Beach Resort which fully sponsored their entire stay.
